Oh "No"

...Nick has learned the word "No". He started to say it Monday...and says it more an more. In the past he just shakes his head no, something that if you mimic would make you fall over dizzy. But now he has added the word, no. We've done our best in saying "don't" instead, we'll see where this goes.

Nick has been asking for Bubba's for a while now.
We finally reloaded the solution.

And if you are keeping tabs on his biting issue, he's averaging an infraction notice each day for it. He too comes home with marks. If he doesn't approve of your actions, he will bite you. Nick apparently is the daycare Cop. He doesn't bite us at home though.

New Words, New Teeth

I realized Saturday that I forgot to do a blog update on Friday...but that's because Mom & Dad were in San Francisco. Mommy had to work but for Dad it was all vacation. The food, architecture tours, friends, the hotel and cable cars made for a fun trip.
It's hard to take a photo looking at the sun.

Nick loves to sit and play at Daddy's desk.

Thanks goes out to Grandpa and Grandma Bowman for taking care of Nicholas when we were out of town! Some day he'll be able to join us.

Nick has been overheard saying, "I'll get it", "hibidiball" (Hit the ball), "la lan na la la la" (banana), and "what's this".
He still has that bottom right molar coming in, meanwhile, he now has his top two molars coming in too. Right before we left, Nick got a shiner below his right eye. The war wounds of daycare.

A Weekend with Dad & Polzin's

Mommy was out of town, but not out of site. Here is a video (from my sweet phone) shown on our tv, of Mom doing "Itzy Bitzy Spider." He loved it and watched it many times.

Friday Nick and Dad spent the night with Uncle Todd, Aunt Amanda and Cousin Max. Dad played video games with Todd that we haven't played in a long time (est 20 years) If you guessed Nintendo and Sega, you were right.

Saturday and Sunday Nick and Dad were at the Polzin Grandparents where Grandma made our favorite, pasta.

Dad sent Nick to school today in a less than normal outfit only to find out it was picture day. Should be interesting.

Note: Nick doesn't like anyone with a beard. We had pictures for our church directory last week and Nick screamed, cried and wanted no part in that shoot. So we should have some interesting photos coming to us.

Having fun with the shower

Nick last September 2009 on top, and on the bottom, this September for his 16 month.

In other news, if I was a betting man, I would bet Nick is a lefty. He loves to swing a poster tube as if it was a bat, at the any ball in the house, lefty. He even has his hands in the right spot. As I have said before he even throws with his left arm. We'll see what happens :)

A Family Weekend

Saturday we made our way to the Library then a 3 mile family walk ... to the locale ice cream shop.

Sunday we had a picnic and then road our bikes around the path for 6 miles with Nick trailing behind in his trailer.
Later we made our way to the Bowman's for some park fun.

Nick said to Mommy "I don't know" today when asked where his shoes are.

If you are keeping tabs, Nicholas turn 16 months yesterday. We'll get a monthly photo to you soon.

Sleeping in a Cot!?!

Lots of info this week, I'll start by saying how shocked we were when we learned that at daycare Nick has been sleeping on a cot! His teachers tell us it take about 15 minutes of soothing but then he's out for his normal- 40min-1hr nap.

New words: He can sign Please and Thank You, and is has been heard to have said "good" a few times when asked how his day day.

Nick still has that giant molar coming in, its big and taking a long time.

The other day Nicholas walked over to my face and rubbed both hands on my cheeks making a quirky sound. Mom, not Dad, realized he was doing back what I do to him when Daddy hasn't shaved that day. Very cute!

Recently Nick has taken notice to drums, he is in awe of them. Drum lines are his favorite. We spent sometime on the internet watching them, you can just see him learning and taking it all in.

Nick went to his first Baseball game on Monday with Aunt Lisa, Leigh, Mommy and Daddy. If it wasn't for Ozzie, the big mascot, he would have had a blast!

This past weekend Lindsey and I spent the weekend downtown touring around while Grandma & Grandpa Polzin spent time with Nicholas.
To Daddy, Nicholas is Superman, to Mommy, Nick is her Pumpkin, to day care they think he'll grow up to be a...

For a new blog update.

Penalty Box

Nick doesn't know the difference between hitting for fun or hitting when he is mad. So we had to practice most of the week with the use of penalties(time outs) and the penalty box where he will sit/stand for a certain amount of time. Lindsey started it Sunday and by Monday, Nick was putting himself in it after he was bad and knew it. It was too funny, but we had to let him know what he did wrong. The face he will give you will make you laugh because he's ever so serious about learning what he did. He still hasn't grasped the full concept, but he's getting there.

He likes to submerge himself in the water.

We went for his 15 month doctors appointment yesterday-
Weight - 21 lbs 10 oz
Length - 32"

Another funny thing is that if he finds a the littlest microscopic piece of lint or something, he'll pinch it, and to take it to the garbage. Throwing stuff out that is trash is a lot of fun for him right now.
He also learned the sign for "please" this week. You are to rub one of your hands on your chest. Nick rubs both hands on his chest/belly.
