Playing Around

Nick loves this diaper box and has been playing with it for 2 weeks.

Mommy bought Nick a coloring book with markers that don't color anything but the book. He loves to scribble, but mostly loves to put the caps on his fingers.

We have friends of friends and family including ourselves watching Nicholas for the next 2 weeks. We are still reading up on no biting.

PS. WOW over 10,000 views!!!!

Suspended.

Sadly, our little angel has been suspended from daycare for 1 month. Mommy talked them into 3 weeks. I know this is not what you want to read about Nicholas, and we don't like telling you.

Lindsey got to the bottom of it yesterday. Nick seems to continually bite one little girl. In the past she has been reprimanded for antagonizing Nicholas but was not the one who scratched him the last couple of weeks. He bit her again yesterday when she had a toy he wanted.
We have purchased some "No Biting" books online and will head to the library to pick up a few more. We are also still working on who can watch him during his time off.

Here is Nicholas and Uncle Todd at Bob and Becky's Halloween Party.
Yes, Nicholas is a Monkey, very fitting.

Bob holds up Addison, and that's cousin Max still in his Spiderman costume.

Sick or Not...

Nick loves to have fun even with another fever. Sick? Yup Nick went home with a fever Tuesday...and went back to daycare with his family cough Friday...again.
He loves to bounce up and down on this ball.
Surrounds him are all of his toys.
We need to get new ones more his age.

A trip to the store is in Nicks future!

New word this week: Chika (Chicken) and he won't eat it plain, it has to have some BBQ sauce on it. Just like his Dad and Grandpa Bowman.

Maybe we'll get some video next week...

He's getting bigger

As you can tell from his 17 month old photo, he is growing like a weed!

Nick spent the weekend with Mommy while Dad was out of town with Uncle Todd and cousin Kellie at Iowa. Mommy, Nick went out to dinner with Aunt Lisa and Leigh for Chinese food, where Nicholas didn't like any of it.

That gash on his nose is pretty deep, we hope it heals quickly.

I hope to record some video clips of Nick soon...so you can see how active he really is!

Mommy's Pumpkin Meets a Real Pumpkin

Except, he kept pointing at them and calling them a ball. :)

New things in Nick's life- he can say, cracker, though it comes out cracka.
Hey can say shoe, but this is rare.
He can tell you thank you, he kisses his hand as if he is blowing you a kiss.
He can tell you he wants water by pointing to his chin. Most of these are a derivative of the actual sign language.
Nick loves birds, and is amazed by their flight. When they are out of sight, he raises his hands and says, whaydego. Where did they go?

We got a free pass....Nick went a whole week without biting anyone, but on Wednesday a kid scratched his nose deep. School proceeded to put a band aide over the scratch that was bleeding. This upset Nick very much and he was crying for 30 minutes until they just took it off. Later we learned that during his pout, he went over to bite a kid but the teacher stuck her hand in between. Nick clamped down on her instead...she thinks he learned his lesson this time.

A Bunch of Sickies.

On Sunday we celebrated Grandpa Polzin's birthday. Mom went with the Polzin family to the mini strain station. He was tired at the time so there wasn't much emotion. Perhaps next time he'll enjoy them more.

We are all sick now, and still.

Nick is learning lots of new words, so much we can't keep up. The latest is "up."

Nick is throwing the ball to Max.

He found his Imagination

I thought long and hard about what I wanted to bring to this blog today. But unfortunately, it was just not a good week for Nick and I. Mom was out of town, and Nick and I are still sick. I could go on a long rant about the positives and many negatives, but instead, I'll leave you with one negative, and one positive.

- I was pulled aside when I went to pick up Nick from daycare yesterday. The director there told me that if Nicholas bites someone one more time, he'll be suspended for a month.

+ Below is a photo of Nick using his imagination, something very new to him. Apparently he watches mom cook more than we thought.

What's this?

"What's this?" That is the new thing he is saying, and waits for an answer. The sponge is soaking it all up!

Unfortunately Nick was sick this weekend which means we don't have any new photos. He was suppose to join us in seeing our life long friends the Rutledges at the zoo, but his fever had him tired and very cuddly.

I, Dad still went to see everyone- where we took the second photo, 20 something years later-
Eric, Todd, Amy, Tim
Additionally, Nick loved watching baseball and football on tv this weekend. We don't normally let hi m watch tv it was a treat for him. Now he points to the tv and says Bayball or Buhball.
