Left & Right

This week Daddy taught Nick how the faucet works. Left for hot, right for cold. It seems that he got it, but many reminders will be in his future.

While riding his bike or walking, he knows which was is left or right as he looks both ways before crossing the street.

I know you all have been on the edge of your seat waiting to know if he's a lefty or righty. But...
He eats and holds utensils with his right hand 99% of the time.
He kicks a soccer ball with his left 60% of the time.
He swings a bat at a baseball like a lefty 90% of the time.
He throws a ball with his left 90% of the time.
He writes with his left and right, 50/50.

Update, oatmeal is back. It has been back in his diet, it was only out of the rotation for a week actually. He enjoys cereal and oatmeal for his breakfast choices.

We all paid Cosley Zoo a visit.

He's proud of his art work.

He loves getting behind the wheel and playing with all of the buttons on the dash.

Jumpies & Birthday's

Over the weekend we celebrated Cousin Ben's 1st birthday. Nick had the chance to play with a bunch of his Cousins in the Jumpie.

Nick and Mommy enjoying some Birthday cake. And this is him trying to smile.

Then again on Wednesday, school had a BBQ where Nick played on another Jumpie with all of his friends.

On Thursday it was Mommy and Daddy's Birthday. We celebrated at Maggiano's with Grandma & Grandpa Polzin.

Nicks bedtime requests; He needs to have the following things in bed with him before he goes to sleep.
Woody (with hat)
Buzz Lightyear
White Woobie
Thomas the Train
Water, filled to the very top.

(PS. Sorry about that gray bar on the bottom of photos)

Hair Cuts and Sleeping

This weekend Nicholas went with Dad to get his first big boy hair cut. I had to sugarcoat it by saying I'll let him watch "Toy Story" so he'd sit still.

We occasionally hear thumps in the house the after Nick goes down to sleep. The reason is because he moves around so much when he sleeps that he falls out of bed. I had my camera with me this time...he didn't wake up until I snapped the photo. Good thing he doesn't have far to fall.

Nick gets up at 5:45am most every morning. Thankfully that green light clock keeps him in bed until 6:20 during the weekdays and 7:00 on the weekends. When it lights up he comes running into our room to tell us.

Bacation #2 & Exciting News

Our exciting news is that Lindsey is PREGNANT! She's due January 15, 2012.
In a few week we'll be learning what we are having so stay tuned.
Now you know why we bought Nick a new bed instead of converting his crib into a toddler bed. They will be eventually sharing a room since we took the house off the market.

On the way to a Galena, IL. for a getaway weekend with the Bowman family.
Nick was helping us look for an alternative route due to the mass flooding in the area from the storm the night before. It was some white knuckle driving with mudslides and flash floods.

Cousin Cormac and Nick couldn't watch enough Toy Story.

A Family Photo at the Galena Winery.

Nick and Cousin Declan play on the "Slip N Slide"

Lifeguard Uncle Todd and the boys in the hot tub. Except it's no longer a hot tub, we filled it with cold water to make it into a mini pool. The pool in the area was closed due to mud slides in the pool and filter.

Bacation!!!

The Polzin family took a little trip up to Lake Delavan for a long weekend.
Grandpa and Grandma Polzin, Aunt Amanda, Uncle Todd, Cousin Max and Henry along with Aunt Tammy were there.
Everyone had a good time, Nick slept on a new blowup twin bed in the room with Max and Tammy.
I forgot to mention a few weeks ago we introduced Nick to a clock in his room that turns green when he's allowed out of bed and when it's "wake up time". Surprisingly it has taken to it well. Max also has one so they both would wake up and sit in their beds until the green light came on. When it did, they rushed out to get a parent and to go play. They had a lot of fun playing together.

The Polzin Family. I just noticed that we are all wearing Red. You count too Grandma, Pink is a form of Red.

Nick giving some love.

Aunt Amanda and Henry

Nick and Max

Daddy, Nick, Uncle Todd and Max!!!!! They loved it.

We learned a lot about Nick this weekend, he LOVES the water, in addition to the life vest, we later put on floaties on his arms and with Mom he was swimming all around the entire pool with the biggest smile we've ever seen.

Little about Nick:
He knows he's abc's, the song, except there are a few extra B's, and E's. And no V's or Z's.
He can count to 20.
He loves the songs, Twinkle Twinkle, and Baby Bumble Bee.
He learned how to use glue this week and according to the teachers did an excellent job.
He loves to eat ribs.
He no longer bites. It's been a few weeks now because it finally clicked that if he bite at school, his toys Woody and Buzz wouldn't want to play with him at night and they would hide.

A New Chapter

Celebrating the 4th of July comes with patriotic cookies!

Aunt Tammy, Grandpa & Grandma Bowman, Aunt Lisa and Uncle Leigh all joined us for the Arlington Heights parade. This is Nick's second year going and about Dads 25th.

Nick being funny, those are his wobbies under his hat.

Nick playing with cousins along with the hose spraying water.

Wrestlemania with Uncle Todd. Tag team, Nick, Declan & Cormac.

We didn't stay for the Bolingbrook Fireworks but the kids did get to color. Nick has really advanced in just a few weeks. He knows he should color inside the lines now. Sure the crayon goes everywhere but its concentrated in the area.

Here begins the new chapter in Nicks life. Since he kept climbing out of his crib we felt he was ready for a big boy bed.
Here is our "apise"= surprise for him.

Nick's new bed at 8:45 in a near pitch black room. (long photo exposure)
He got it yesterday, it took him 1 hour and 45 minutes to fall asleep. This included a few trips back and forth from the crib to the new bed. When we woke his morning h was at the end of the bed on his stomach with his feet hanging off.

Naked Nick

Nick has a new chapter in his life:
1. It's running around naked. You'll turn your head for one second and he'll be flying across the room in his birthday suit. He even strips down when he wakes up.

2. He began climbing bigger objects, now he climbs into his crib. We will be looking for a big boy bed soon.

3. He ate a piece of paper, as soon as Dad realized it, he tried to pull it out from Nicks mouth. By then it was stuck and he was choking on it. When we finally removed it we saw that there was also a staple attached to it.

Nick and Willa Broznowski

Nick and Willa sat at the "big table".

Evie Broznowski loves to play with Nicks hat.

Where's Nick? He's bellied up to the bar while at cousin Kellie's graduation party from Iowa.

He requested that the Panda's be changed.

Baths are fun again, Mommy bought him some Yo Gabba Gabba bath toys.
