Scared!

Missed us? Mom and Dad were out in Minnesota last weekend. Nick had a fun time playing with Grandpa and Grandma Bowman while we were "owa town".

Nick's new thing to do it pretend to be scared when reading certain books with monsters, or out of nowhere. So I slapped a kids monster tattoo on his arm. He loves to show you his monster an make a growling sound.

This dog, (Buster) is the closest thing we have to having our own dog at this time. Nick has loved him from the first time they met.

Nick playing. Rest assure, this all gets cleaned up before he gets his 15 minutes of tv time before bedtime.

I was hoping for a real nap, but it was just pretend.

  Can he do it?

Yes he can! Grandma was there just in case.

Dropped off at school today, his girl friends were excited to see him, but they were calling him Nicky. (not a fan)

Nick doesn't know...or wouldn't know even if we explained it, but we are taking him to see his favorite tv characters on Saturday. "Yo Gabba Gabba" will be shared with cousin Declan and Cormac.

Broccoli Over What?

I've seen a lot of kids eat food before, but when we put chicken, applesauce and broccoli on Nicks plate, we were surprised to see what happened. This is the same kid who wouldn't touch greens a year ago mind you, but this week he went right for that broccoli and finished it before touching the rest of the food.

If Nick gets embarrassed or is being shy, he'll stick out his tongue, not rude but in a cute way.

At school, they read books, sing songs, play game and are constantly making art projects. Nick enjoys breaking crayons and his favorite toy this week are Lego's.

At a friends 30th birthday party, Mommy reads to Nick and family friend Emily.

Mommy is 22 weeks along come Sunday.

Big annOuncement Yesterday

We went for another ultrasound yesterday, and we brought Nick along. He mostly played with Dads phone, but while there we learned-
It's a Boy
Nick smiles when we tell him he has a baby brother on the way.

This week Nick learned how to hold his finders to show his age.

Nobody was hurt in the making of this video.
Cousin Declan(5) and Nick were at Airtastic having lots of fun.
Apparently Nick has some acting skills too.

Left & Right

This week Daddy taught Nick how the faucet works. Left for hot, right for cold. It seems that he got it, but many reminders will be in his future.

While riding his bike or walking, he knows which was is left or right as he looks both ways before crossing the street.

I know you all have been on the edge of your seat waiting to know if he's a lefty or righty. But...
He eats and holds utensils with his right hand 99% of the time.
He kicks a soccer ball with his left 60% of the time.
He swings a bat at a baseball like a lefty 90% of the time.
He throws a ball with his left 90% of the time.
He writes with his left and right, 50/50.

Update, oatmeal is back. It has been back in his diet, it was only out of the rotation for a week actually. He enjoys cereal and oatmeal for his breakfast choices.

We all paid Cosley Zoo a visit.

He's proud of his art work.

He loves getting behind the wheel and playing with all of the buttons on the dash.

Jumpies & Birthday's

Over the weekend we celebrated Cousin Ben's 1st birthday. Nick had the chance to play with a bunch of his Cousins in the Jumpie.

Nick and Mommy enjoying some Birthday cake. And this is him trying to smile.

Then again on Wednesday, school had a BBQ where Nick played on another Jumpie with all of his friends.

On Thursday it was Mommy and Daddy's Birthday. We celebrated at Maggiano's with Grandma & Grandpa Polzin.

Nicks bedtime requests; He needs to have the following things in bed with him before he goes to sleep.
Woody (with hat)
Buzz Lightyear
White Woobie
Thomas the Train
Water, filled to the very top.

(PS. Sorry about that gray bar on the bottom of photos)

Hair Cuts and Sleeping

This weekend Nicholas went with Dad to get his first big boy hair cut. I had to sugarcoat it by saying I'll let him watch "Toy Story" so he'd sit still.

We occasionally hear thumps in the house the after Nick goes down to sleep. The reason is because he moves around so much when he sleeps that he falls out of bed. I had my camera with me this time...he didn't wake up until I snapped the photo. Good thing he doesn't have far to fall.

Nick gets up at 5:45am most every morning. Thankfully that green light clock keeps him in bed until 6:20 during the weekdays and 7:00 on the weekends. When it lights up he comes running into our room to tell us.

Bacation #2 & Exciting News

Our exciting news is that Lindsey is PREGNANT! She's due January 15, 2012.
In a few week we'll be learning what we are having so stay tuned.
Now you know why we bought Nick a new bed instead of converting his crib into a toddler bed. They will be eventually sharing a room since we took the house off the market.

On the way to a Galena, IL. for a getaway weekend with the Bowman family.
Nick was helping us look for an alternative route due to the mass flooding in the area from the storm the night before. It was some white knuckle driving with mudslides and flash floods.

Cousin Cormac and Nick couldn't watch enough Toy Story.

A Family Photo at the Galena Winery.

Nick and Cousin Declan play on the "Slip N Slide"

Lifeguard Uncle Todd and the boys in the hot tub. Except it's no longer a hot tub, we filled it with cold water to make it into a mini pool. The pool in the area was closed due to mud slides in the pool and filter.
