Peanut Butter and Video Games

At 18 months,
Kevin's head circumference is 45 1/2" = 4 percentile.
His height is 30 1/2" = 7 percentile.
He weighs 19lbs 12 oz = below the chart scale.

Kevin hanging out with his cousin Addison Burnette.

A serious family game of bocce ball during cousin Katie's High School graduation party.

Dad has recently taught Nicholas how to play video games. We started with N64 Mario Cart which came out in 1996 but is a great start for learning. He is getting much better with staying on the race track and not running into walls or going backwards. It is fun to watch him physically twist as he's turning his car in the game.
Nick still loves to ride his small no pedal bike, and also his big boy bike. However his big boy bike out weighs him, and it is a little too tall for it. So he can only ride it when an adult is present.

No peanut allergies here as he likes to smear it all over his face.

Half Birthday = 4th of July

People have been telling me for a while now that we should celebrate Kevin's half birthday in the summer since he's birthday is on January 4th. Once they think about it, they smile and say "oh". Kevin will love the fireworks the city puts on for him every year on his half bday.

It's tradition! Since Nick has been born we drive up to Aunt Lisa's and Uncle Leigh's house for breakfast before the Arlington Heights parade. Aunt Lisa had quite a spread this year!!!

Perhaps my camera was tired too. 40 minutes into the 10am parade, the kids were crashing.

Normally what would happen is that we would go home for them to nap. We did just that, but neither zombie child napped.

Still up, playing dressup with cousin Cormac and awaiting the fireworks.
I thought a day with the no naps kids was doomed, but they surprised the heck out of Dad and Mom. Even baby Kevin was fine!

 HA!
Nick gets his V's and B's mixed up.
"Daddy, that's not berry nice."

This is too much fruit for a little boy.

Kevin said "Amen" at the end of prayers last week.

Actually I Did It

Last weekend we celebrated Father's Day with the Polzin family.
Max and Nick played on the slip n slide. While,

Kevin and Henry played in the kiddy pool.

If you didn't know, Kevin is funny.

Kevin loves when you touch his face. He falls asleep very easily when you do.

We took a tired little boy to see his first movie in a theater (at 10am). Nick saw "Monsters University" and loved the experience so much that he asked if we can bring home the "tv" with us.

On Friday, Kevin, Nick, Max and Henry went to the Zoo with Daddy and Aunt Amanda.

Kevin's has begun stringing words together.
"I did it"
"Let me see"
"Where's Daddy"

Nick has began using big boy words.
"Actually"
He actually uses "actually" in nearly every sentence.

Words

Did you think I would forget to post the monthly photo? There was chance of it.
Kevin at 17th months and Nick at 4.

Nick spent last week at Vacation Bible School meeting new friends and being extremely shy.

Daddy hung out with some of his fraternity brothers at a lake house over the weekend.

When I returned on Fathers day, Mommy and the boys made me breakfast in bed at lunchtime.
I returned with a unshaven face and lots of neck kisses.

 Mr. Smiles, Mr. Words
He learned to say "eggy". And when I bring out the canalope, he gets excited with an "oooo".

Iowa Weekend Get-A-Way

Off we went to Iowa the weekend of June 8th to visit another fun filled family, the Dodson's.
Kevin riding in the backhoe with Chase in front? They are big John Deer fans.

Is Ms. Joy and the youngsters ready for ice cream?

He might not be happy, but he loves Whitey's ice cream!

While there we stopped in at a children's museum where Officer Chef Nick is cooking an ice cream cone in a brick oven.

Lance and Nick loved playing toy story together.

The four boys.
Kevin, Lance, Nick, Chase

Thank you to the Dodson family for opening up their home to us!!!

Kevin is talking more and more every day! This week he learned to say Banana (Blananna)
He also can partially sing the family soothing song, (Olay) in the sweetest voice you've ever heard.

Air Show Rewind

Time is getting away from me.

The weekend of the 6th of June, we went with the Broznowski family to the local Air Show.
Playing in a Vietnam war era Jeep

Nick in a local Firetruck. I swear there were planes here too! But we couldn't go in those.

Later we went back to Broz's house for a bbq.

Willa tracing Nicks hand. They play well together.

Early this month Kevin has exploded with words, and it seems that each day he says a new word.
He can say please (pees), thank you (talk oo), doggie, down (though he confuses it with uppy).

Party Brothers

Cousin Max's 5th Birthday!

Kevin would have gone down that way if we let him.

Nick wasn't the star of this party but he sure did love wearing those glasses.

Cars in the house.

In order to get to what we see here, rewind to when Nick was on the couch and Kevin was on the floor. Both were in a serious tug of war with the blanket. After tears began from each party Dad broke it up and explained to them the word "share" again. I sat Kevin up next to Nick and tucked the blanket around them. Kevin reached over and gave a hug and Kiss to Nick. With a tear rolling down his left cheek, Kevin smirked back at me.

The boys spent almost an hour throwing our yard rocks into the large puddle at the end of the driveway.
