Walking and Crawl/Stand

Today, a week and a half after Nicks big walking debut, we have more video along with the funny crawling he does when he thinks the ground is too cold for him.

On another note during bath time tonight he had a toy in each hand and decided he wanted to put the rings (floating on top of the water) in his mouth as well. Wasn't he surprised when he put his face underwater for the first time! Too funny he looked shocked but not upset.

Found his tongue, and ours.

You would have guessed that he figured out his tongue a while ago, since the doctors use to tell us to stick ours out and he’ll do the same. Not until the weekend did he do it back. Then it was a game of why does ours go away when he reaches for it. It was really cute to see him learning. He gave up one time by taking his hands wrapping them on both sides of my face and then giving me a kiss.

Saturday Nick got to play with lots of other kids his age including his buddy Jackson at our neighbors Naomi’s birthday party. It was funny because Nick was showing off his walking skills and went from person to person, not sure if he thought they were me when he would lay his head on their leg.

Sunday Uncle Todd, Aunt Amanda and Max came over to play, that was a fun time! Nick and Max get along very well, especially when Nick thinks the crackers in Max’s hand are Nicks. Yes, he started to eat crackers, we didn’t intend for it to happen, but he did a great job (just made a big mess.)

Early Riser

Lately Nick has been waking up at 5:30..and won't go back to sleep. That's much earlier that when Mommy and Daddy wake up. We've tried to relax and hope he would fall back asleep later while in bed with us. It seems like he tries because he lays down his head on our pillow...multiple times, but he just has too much energy and wants to play :)
Oh and for the record, he still wakes up for a feeding in the middle of the night, something Mommy will be not doing anymore following the next surgery.

Here is some video of Nicholas walking and yes that is celery in his hand, he LOVES it.

Surgery Date Set

Just as the surgery date was set, a few days later Nick got sick. Again no fillups with a fever or a cough. He had a fever but still has the cough, they figure with his progress it won't delay the surgery date of March 18th as of now. So he's staying home this week.

Other news we learned the opening date of the new daycare, March 29. It was schedule to open, October, then November, December, January, February, March.....so we'll believe it when we see it.

If you want to see Nicholas crawl on all fours (hands and feet) put him in a diaper and on hardwood floors. We are not sure if he doesn't like the feel of the wood on his knees or if it's cold to him.

Aunt Jen captured this photo on Nick at cousin Declans 4th birthday party.

Many thanks to Grandma Bowman and Aunt Tammy for watching Nick a few days during each week!!!

9 months to the day, Walked

And I don't mean just walked a step or two... On Saturday his official 9 month birthday, he took 4 steps to Mommy from a standing position. Awesome, but what came the next day was jaw dropping for us. He was walking around from object to object or into the middle of them room then on to his butt. Pretty cool to see.

Nick's cold has become worse and tonight he went to bed with a fever.

Nick at 9 months.

9 Months Old

The race is on...according to my parents I walked at 9 1/2 months old. Tomorrow Nick turns 9 months. I need to get further clarification on what my parents definition of me "walking" is. Either way he is getting closer and closer. He takes one or two steps from object to objects right now.
Never before seen photo until last week, even I didn't know they had it. My parents camera captured Nicks first steps alone on January 18, 2010..he took 2 1/2.
In other news, he is eating better once again, drinking all of his milk and eating all of his food, we started to give him more food because he kept eating it. Then noticeably he has a big belly afterwards. And now, sadly Nick and I both have the start of a cold.
