Bacation!!!

The Polzin family took a little trip up to Lake Delavan for a long weekend.
Grandpa and Grandma Polzin, Aunt Amanda, Uncle Todd, Cousin Max and Henry along with Aunt Tammy were there.
Everyone had a good time, Nick slept on a new blowup twin bed in the room with Max and Tammy.
I forgot to mention a few weeks ago we introduced Nick to a clock in his room that turns green when he's allowed out of bed and when it's "wake up time". Surprisingly it has taken to it well. Max also has one so they both would wake up and sit in their beds until the green light came on. When it did, they rushed out to get a parent and to go play. They had a lot of fun playing together.

The Polzin Family. I just noticed that we are all wearing Red. You count too Grandma, Pink is a form of Red.

Nick giving some love.

Aunt Amanda and Henry

Nick and Max

Daddy, Nick, Uncle Todd and Max!!!!! They loved it.

We learned a lot about Nick this weekend, he LOVES the water, in addition to the life vest, we later put on floaties on his arms and with Mom he was swimming all around the entire pool with the biggest smile we've ever seen.

Little about Nick:
He knows he's abc's, the song, except there are a few extra B's, and E's. And no V's or Z's.
He can count to 20.
He loves the songs, Twinkle Twinkle, and Baby Bumble Bee.
He learned how to use glue this week and according to the teachers did an excellent job.
He loves to eat ribs.
He no longer bites. It's been a few weeks now because it finally clicked that if he bite at school, his toys Woody and Buzz wouldn't want to play with him at night and they would hide.

A New Chapter

Celebrating the 4th of July comes with patriotic cookies!

Aunt Tammy, Grandpa & Grandma Bowman, Aunt Lisa and Uncle Leigh all joined us for the Arlington Heights parade. This is Nick's second year going and about Dads 25th.

Nick being funny, those are his wobbies under his hat.

Nick playing with cousins along with the hose spraying water.

Wrestlemania with Uncle Todd. Tag team, Nick, Declan & Cormac.

We didn't stay for the Bolingbrook Fireworks but the kids did get to color. Nick has really advanced in just a few weeks. He knows he should color inside the lines now. Sure the crayon goes everywhere but its concentrated in the area.

Here begins the new chapter in Nicks life. Since he kept climbing out of his crib we felt he was ready for a big boy bed.
Here is our "apise"= surprise for him.

Nick's new bed at 8:45 in a near pitch black room. (long photo exposure)
He got it yesterday, it took him 1 hour and 45 minutes to fall asleep. This included a few trips back and forth from the crib to the new bed. When we woke his morning h was at the end of the bed on his stomach with his feet hanging off.

Naked Nick

Nick has a new chapter in his life:
1. It's running around naked. You'll turn your head for one second and he'll be flying across the room in his birthday suit. He even strips down when he wakes up.

2. He began climbing bigger objects, now he climbs into his crib. We will be looking for a big boy bed soon.

3. He ate a piece of paper, as soon as Dad realized it, he tried to pull it out from Nicks mouth. By then it was stuck and he was choking on it. When we finally removed it we saw that there was also a staple attached to it.

Nick and Willa Broznowski

Nick and Willa sat at the "big table".

Evie Broznowski loves to play with Nicks hat.

Where's Nick? He's bellied up to the bar while at cousin Kellie's graduation party from Iowa.

He requested that the Panda's be changed.

Baths are fun again, Mommy bought him some Yo Gabba Gabba bath toys.

No O-Me

The time has come, we knew it would, Nick no longer wants to eat oatmeal. It's the first thing he'll tell you when you go into his room to get him, no o-me. And if it wasn't clear, he'll repeat it a few times, each time louder.

Now he eats cereal, and please note; he always wants a big boy spoon and is holding it like a big boy too.

Just hanging out.

He carried these "ba-oons" around until they were nearly empty.

That's Nick in the orange chair. He's hanging out with Mommy and the Bowman's side of the family at a party for Cousin Chris who just graduated High School.

Like a big boy!
If you recall back in April Nick got his first hair cut outside of family doing it, he was petrified and screamed the whole time. On Saturday when we asked him if he wanted to go get his hair cut, he excitingly said "yeah" then what surprised both Mom and Dad, "Nemo, TB?" He remembers watching Nemo there. No time since has he's seen that orange fish, Nemo. TB is the TV. I then asked him if he remembered what he sat in. He responded after a few seconds, "Choo Choo". He was right and we were amazed, it was the first time he showed us he can remember that far back.
This round he was awesome! He sat there and watched Toy Story 3.

Fathers Day
Dad and Nick are eating beef brisket.

"Look"

Look Mommy, look Daddy.... it is his favorite word. He wants you to see whatever he's looking at too.
Nick has starting to request "hide and go seek". The other day he hid in a suitcase that was on the floor.

Cousin Cormac's 2nd birthday party.

Cousin Max and Nicholas enjoy getting their hair blown.
"No fingers" are a rule.

Watching Grandpa Polzin play with his ipad.

Hopefully the weather will get nicer so we can take some outside photos.

What Cabinet Locks?

I'm not sure at what age a child learns how to open the cabinets that have push down locks on them but Nick at 2, has figured it out. I saw it happen right in front of me, he studied it then figured it out. He hasn't gone crazy opening them up just yet.

Have I mentioned that Nick can walk up and down the stairs with no problems and he doesn't need to hold on to anything? Though sometimes he walks with his arms full of toys. And of course, we are talking about Nick, he likes to slide down head first down the stairs too. Mom and Dad do not approve.

Here is the cake Aunt Lindsey made for Nephew Max (3) Uncle Tim helped a little.

Here we are at Max's party getting ready for him to blow out the candles.

Leftover party balloons and one scary face. He loved playing with these.

Daddy and Nick time.

Last weekend was Uncle Todd's birthday.
Nick got in on the fun.

Walking with Grandpa Bowman
Cousins hanging out on the couch.

Nicks favorite animal this week is a Giraffe.

He can say his last name really well. He doesn't know what a last name is though.
