September 2016 - Nick's Tooth & Weddings

The 88th Monthly Photo

You and I went to the last day at our church before they moved.

You had a half day, and so did Dad! We're sitting on horse saddles at a BBQ restaurant.

Then we went miniature golfing! (Yes I changed my shirt)

High five, nope, you guys were measuring hands.

He's not mad, hes showing you his full set of teeth before one is gone.

Hanging out with cousins on Dads side.

Karyn and Bob's Wedding. Grandpa Polzins Cousin.

Just a normal weekend morning.

Abbey and Ryan's Wedding (Don't confuse Fullerton with Fulton and you'll be on time)

Dad & Mom

Grandma Bowman took Kevin out of school one day to hang at the arboretum with Great Grandma and cousins.

Dads Birthday Present

A Lego mess.

Ye talk like a pirate day.

Awe, they are playing together, no. Kevin you were holding down the button so that Nick couldn't type.

9/23/16 around 7:15pm
Mommy pulled out Nicks first tooth. It became really loose earlier when us three boys were wrestling and a baseball tee base struck it. Your new tooth is coming in behind your old tooth.
Should be....interesting.

Kids Triathalon, Beachin, Olympics, First day of School

87th Monthly Photo

I woke Nick up one night as asked, do you want run a kids triathlon? I was more excited that he was, but he said, sure after I explained what it all meant. One lap in the Y pool

Two bike loops

And running one loop around the school.  He did it! You came in 6th out of 24 other racers. You wold have done better but I put on that shirt that wouldn't fit around your neck. Sorry 'bout that.

...Kevin, you're riding the next size up bike...

Lets go to the beach I said, you guys jumped up and down with excitement. And so I took a day off work and that's what we did.

 Sunbathing

 The beach...in Naperville.

I made you order the ribs...the kids size portion. By the 4th rib, you told me it was too hot still. Impossible, I took a bit. Why would they put a spicy sauce on a kids meal? Nice job eating as much as you did!

We watched a TON of the Summer 2016 Olympics in the house. We had every sport on demand and the boys loved watching them with me. The best quote came from Kevin during the swimming.
He asked, "Why is she holding onto our TV?" We were all laughing.

I took a trip to a birthday celebration with the Polzin family. Sitting to my left is Grace and to my right, Charlie. Can't forget Max and Henry in the back.

I also took a trip with my fraternity brothers to 11 breweries in Michigan for my birthday weekend.

Another round of "Mommy's not home, what does that mean?" SMOOTHIES
Kevin, you later changed your vote.

First day of 2nd grade for you Nick

Just some Zucchini from our garden.

Outside playdoh is the best.

Nicks cooling down after soccer.

Funny sleeping

Smores, Angry Birds movie on the house and camping with Dad in the back yard. It was a great night despite the thunderstorms that I didn't plan for.
Mommy went out with some work people.

Earlier this morning Nicks soccer game was canceled.
We then went to lake Michigan with our neighbors the Graff family and onto their boat. The weather turned perfect!

Nick, Dad, Kevin. Tubing in Lake Michigan. Doesn't get much cooler than that.

Everyone having a good time.

August was a great month for the family and
Mom and Dad turned a year older.

Kevin is less enthused with Micky Mouse and more with Paw Patrol these days. He also remains the slowest eater on the planet.

Nick also likes to watch Paw Patrol but loves reading Star Wars books.

They both earned enough marbles to buy stickers for their rooms. And so Kevin who earned the most first, got giant Paw Patrol Stickers, and Nick later, bought large Star War stickers.  A common theme in the Polzin house these days.

Family Vacation, Parents Getaway and Nick Caught A Fish

86th Monthly Photo

Gracie and Charlie turn 2!

Cake time!

As we've done, continuing the tradition. We headed to Aunt Lisa and Uncle Leigh's for the Arlington Heights 4th of July parade.

Kevin's class made this bug.

The Annual Bowman's vacation found us back at Blue Harbor Resort. We stayed in the condos, you were were rolling down the hill of he hotel.

Walked to the safest end of the pier.

The clan getting ice cream.

Cousins

The loved playing in the sand and though the water was cold, Nick still braved it.

Dad and Mom had a movie night with some neighbors.

Mom and Dad also spend a summer weekend in the city. We ate a lot of good food and walked nearly 20 miles according to Mom's Fitbit. Thanks Ed and Susie for watching the kids.

Scared me...you?

You request me to look at you in the window nearly every day. Then you excitedly wave back Kevin.

Neighbors John and Molly had a shrimp boil. You boys played with this the entire night.

Grandpa Polzin and Dad took you out fishing. Nick had been requesting it leading up to us going.
Here, Grandpa is teaching you the basics.

A little time later, you were both casting!

Then, it happened. NICK, you caught your first fish. You were beyond excited!

It took me a while to actually install them up in your rooom, but three years later, you have curtain hooks. And here you are screwing on the endcaps. Thanks for the assistance Kevin.

Nick is looking forward to start 2nd grade. His interest in reading has slowed but he spends a lot of time on puzzles, legos and riding his bike.

Aquanauts, and Paw Patrol cartoons of some of Kevin's go-to's. Your newest favorite is PJmasks.
