August 2024 - Sprint Triathlon, Growing up, Birthday Bike Ride, Field Trips

181 Monthly Photo

Summer Fridays with my oldest. It was packet pickup for my race so we went out to lunch.

For the second time, Dad ran the Sprint Triathlon, but this time I trained in the swimming and hoped to beat my time.

Biking

Running

You guys were there to support me this year :)

I shaved nearly 8 minutes off my time from last year. I feel I could go even faster if it did it again, but I'm satisfied for now.

One day you won't need to climb up.

You here.

And you there.

Nick, you and I built something but the Attic was crazy hot!

We built this because it was blocking Mom from getting into the car.

Summer Merit Badges for you.

And Summer Merit Badges for you.

On our birthday we went to Busse Woods where Dad grew up going around the loop.

Overall we road 9.6 miles

My bike hitch :)

Then we went to the Portillo's that Dads family used to spend a lot of time in.

On the Monday of the week, Dad went up to Northbrook to visit a fraternity brother that wanted to show Nick the company he works for because you were showing signs of interest in Engineering- WJE. Nick spent a couple hours going around the lab which Dad worked in his friends office.
That Wednesday he was invited to go out to a job site downtown Chicago by the same company. We took the train in and I worked from our city office. The photo shows where he was at one point. They took him around and then out to lunch. He learned a lot that day and decided he wanted to be a Structural Engineer.

Lunch at the kitchen table.

First Day of School!

Running football plays

We visited the Polzin family, we to the country club pool and hung out.

Henry had a tournament here and Cousin Kellie happen to be in town from Colorado!
Out to dinner we went!

Nick went to the Northern boundaries on a canoe trip for the week. That is in upper Minnesota and they even crossed into Canada.

One of many fish you caught!

Cooling off and getting clean?

Nick, you said the mosquitoes were horrible. Your back was covered in bites.

Making Dinner

Meanwhile we were back at home out to a new dinner place called Fused.

I took you to the 5th annual hot sauce festival! You had a good time.

Dad bought way too many yummy hot sauces. In fact, I brought a smaller backpack to that I didn't over buy. 39 hot sauces and I ended up needed two more bags. 4 are Kevins that you picked out. Your favorite is called Vomit, it's banana peppers.

Mom was out of town, so Dad made dinner on the Blackstone!

Some mountain biking with Kev

This is Sunny. She hides in Nicks room often.

June 2024 - St Louis, Hot Springs Arkansas, BabyPalooza 11 years later.

180th Monthly Photo

On our way to Arkansas, we stopped in St. Louis for a Cardinals game and to show the kids the Arch.

The St. Louis Arch

We spent a week in Hot Springs, Arkansas with Mom's family! We had a great time floating in pools and lakes, throwing long football passes, tubing from the pontoon boat, mini golf, ice cream and enjoying good company.

These sunsets!

Only person to catch a fish was Cormac and it was his first cast and catch ever. He caught a small bass.

These sunsets, kept coming!

Out to a local restaurant.

These sunsets, were beautiful!

One day, I took the kids to a local diamond field, but all we found were some cool rocks.

All we caught was cool rocks, no diamonds.

Tubing! That's Nick out there.

Out to dinner!

When you have neck problems when you are older - Don't say Dad didn't warn me.
You are staring at your phone.

Lot's of practice is still needed on turns, and braking. You curb-checked my wheel.
It will cost $400 for a new one.
