Sleeping: For a while he was down to 1 wake up. Then we thought he was teething again, which he is not, but he was waking up 3-4 times a night. It's down to 1-3 but still happens. Mommy gets up with him once during the night to feed him. Napping during the day is starting to get better, Daddy is trying to get him on a schedule so that it's good for him and good for Dad to get some work done.

Snow = Sledding!!!!
We took Nicholas sledding with his first sled last weekend that he received for Christmas. He didn't care much for it. Probably because the snow was hitting him in the face. But we sure did have fun.

Eating: He loves to eat the food we give him. Lindsey continues to make organic veggies and fruits and then freezes them into ice cube trays. Lately he doesn't like to drink out of bottles and just plays with them instead. Last night Nick tried mashed potatoes from his Mommy's plate and he liked them. Lindsey continues to nurse him in the evenings and morning.

His first Christmas
Nicks favorite toys out of the gate are; the Hammer Me doggy fire truck, followed by the band piano in photo above, and the toy laptop. The hammer was chewed on by one of the cousins dogs that was in town and had to be tossed. With the laptop, all he likes to do is open and close it so far. Nick also received a fluffy bear pillow that he loves to bury his face into. Along with the cute clothes and additional toys, he received a toy chest to store all these wonderful things into.
New things, he loves to suck on his cheeks and lips, so his smiles have to be earned these days, otherwise you'll just get a smirk. Also we learned he can give high fives with no formal training.

Christmas Eve Eve
The presents are wrapped and by the tree, away from Nicholas so he can't see.
I was going to report that he's been sleeping a lot better and was down to only 1 wake up, but that has changed drastically since the weekend. He's teething again, we think. He is very clingy and cranky and wakes up 3-4 times at night again.
But when he's doing fine, he has a good time.

Christmas week
On Saturday we had another Babypalooza with my fraternity brothers and their kids. Sunday Lindsey took Nick to a cookie exchange party where he enjoyed the company of Lindsey's friends and a family dog. We have a bunch of upcoming events planned for this week with pictures to come.
We've noticed Nicholas has the hearing of his forefathers, which means very sensitive and he could hear you coming a mile away no matter how quiet you think you are.
Here our Christmas card. Because of budget cuts at home we are not mailing them.

100th Post - Pet Store
Today marks the 100th post in Our Polzin Life blog and over 4,000 page views. Thanks for visiting everyone.
Monday I surprised Nick and took him to a pet store. He absolutely is mezmerize by pets. He showed next to no emotion while starring at the pets. He saw cats, fish, a dog of an owner, guinea and birds. His favorite was the dog that walked by, but watching him follow the movements of the birds what pretty entertaining.

7 months old - He can clap
Yesterday, the 13th, Nicholas woke to being 7 months old. At 6:20 am he was very excited, so excited, he started to clap for the first time. For the past two weeks we have been encouraging him to eat different foods by clapping after he gives us that "gross" face. And now he does it back...Daddy didn't see him clap but when he let Mommy sleep in and take Nick downstairs, all Nicked wanted to do was clap. I couldn't tell you how many times he clapped, in church, after naps, while he ate. All day and very cute each time.

His first snow
He was very confused while he let us put him in that snow suit. Took him outside to play in the snow...he didn't move. So we made him do a snow angle. Then Daddy got an idea, made a tiny snowball and gave it to Nick to taste. He didn't like it one bit showing us his yucky face.

Yesterday, Daddy and Grandma Polzin took Nick to see Santa for the first time. Grandma didn't know that's what we were doing, she was just coming to visit. Pictures next week. A funny thing I haven't mentioned...while at lunch Nick kept wanting my glass of water, Grandma wanted me to take it away from him but instead I said watch this. I brought it over to Nick and he opened is mouth and drank the water, gulping it down. When he finished, he had the biggest smile. Then Grandma asks Nick, "how old are you?".
I want to extend a special thank you to Grandma Bowman for coming out to our home many times the past few weeks to watch Nick while I have been going to interviews.

Things Nick does update-
Things Nick does-
I walked into the bathroom from the bedroom the other day and he was looking back at me standing at the toilet, playing with the water inside. Noted: close lids.
When he smiles big his ears go up, just like Dads. And speaking of smiles, he has a funny smile on occasion, a big mouth and with squinting eyes.
Last night he was introduced to bananas. But like most foods, he doesn't notice a difference.

It's begining to look a lot like Christmas
Nick, is seeing all the cool things that get put up during this time of year. This weekends photos will be posted or even mailed out to you so I don't have any for today.
I did however try multiply times to get a shot of his two front teeth that are coming in. I need him to cooperate for it to be a worthwhile photo.
To clarify, Daddy got the hair cut last week, not Nick. He just watched.

Frustrating...
Frustrating...for him. He gets that way sometimes and its cute because he tenses up, flexes his biceps and forearms, then makes two clinching fists that face each other. If I ever get the chance to take a photo, you know I will show you.
He went with me this morning to get a hair cut at great clips, his first time to a hair cut place. He also technically saw snow, but this is just a dusting and I didn't show him it, I'll wait until Mommy is around for that.

Check that! TWO TEETH
We discovered Monday night that the new tooth that broke skin is not alone, he is getting one to the left. So in total his first two front bottom teeth.
He has discovered that he can also go downstairs, after he made his way, head first down the first step, along with climbing up the stairs to the second stair...we now have up the gates.
Currently he's on a milk strike, and only wants anything and everything that can be given to him on a spoon.
Here is the video of his first dance. He's enjoyed the Andrew Sisters since birth.
