Party Party

Family friend Aden, turned 4. We all had a fun time at Pump It Up.

Later, we went out to dinner and funny enough the kids sat all together.

Nick and the Birthday boy.

Over visiting more family friends this week, they have a love bird. Nick was not willing to try it because he was too scared. Kevin on the other hand had no problem other than trying to figure out what was on his back!

Ok, Kevin has been known to say four words, Mama, Dada, Night Night and Uh Oh. But this week when I pulled out the camera to capture his mess he immediately said "Cheese" and smiled a great big smile.

A BOMBSHELL of News

One of the biggest bombshells I've ever was told happened this week. One of the owners of the company that I've worked for a few weeks shy of 3 years came in and told me that he has bad news and very good news. He went on to say that they were eliminating my graphic design position/department at the company. They are going to send all of the work to the design firm out east that we acquired in a merge last year. He quickly responded that he doesn't want to see me go and wanted to know if I would become a purchaser for the company. This would include bidding out all of the design jobs that I once did, along with way more from other companies.

With a new house 2 months away, I told him the next day that I'll take the new job. I was initially numb to think that I'd never be a designer again because it's all I've known in my day to day life for the past 12 1/2 years. The more I have thought about it, I think it will be a great experience and job for me. Sure my first day is Monday and I haven't even had my feet wet yet, I'm looking at this to be very positive move. As for the blog, please note, the new updates will have to come on the weekend as I no longer will be working from home.

Kevin's One Year Old stats
Head- 44 cm = 5% of other kids
Height-28" =  5%

Like I've said, Kevin loves putting things around his neck and on his head.

Until recently Nick and Daddy had their own way of singing "wheels on the bus". It developed soon after he learned to speak and saw the movie Toy Story for the first time and was sang almost every day on the way to school. Nick doesn't let me sing this version anymore, he wants the real words. So before it lets lost here is a mini version-
The wheels on the bus go round and round, all through the town,
Woody's on the bus and he says, reach for the sky, all through the town,
Buzz lighyear is on the bus and he says, to infinity and beyond, all through the town,
Jessie's on the bus and she says, yeeeehaaaa, all through the town,
Ham's on the bus and he says, oink oink oink, all through the town,
Rex's on the bus and he says, ROOOOAAAAAR, all through the town,
Aliens's on the bus and he says, Bee bop bow boop, all through the town,
....it goes on and on at this point, we throw all kinds of animals on that bus and hear what they have to say.

Currently Nick's favorite books are two he received for Christmas, Superman and Batman. He asks Mommy to read Batman and Dad to read Superman.

Happy 1st Birthday Kevin

And it is was indeed a Happy Birthday.
Kicked off his morning with breakfast in bed, a Polzin family tradition.

As kids do, he took terrible naps on this big day. But as he does, he puts on a smile.
~Singing Happy Birthday~

The sugar coma that follows.

Overall it was a wonderful event held at Grandma and Grandpa Bowman's. Many family members and his God-parents were in attendance. A special thank you goes out to the Bowman's again for hosting another one of our parties.
-----
Funny thing about Kevin, he loves to wrap clothes around the back of his neck and then walk around. It's quite comical.

Nick was really tired last week. We thought I might be leftover from the whirlwind of Christmas events, but it wasn't. I caught him up around 4:50am playing with his toys and crafts a few nights. We put an end to that.

This brief event is bittersweet. I set up the camera to capture the last time I will bottle feed Kevin or any of my babies for that matter. Kevin never ever drank over 4 1/2 -5 ounces of milk from the bottles. In his final bottle, he only consumed 1 1/2 oz. He never moved into the larger bottles. Kevin has moved on to more grownup food now. He can and has now consumed peanut butter with no issues. As of yesterday all of the bottles are now packed away and Mommy has her counter space back.
