Greens, welcome, we've been waiting for you.

Since he's been able to eat solid foods, Nick has refused to eat anything green despite having it offered to him often. When he turned 2, I thought to give it another try. Success, he loves green beans and peas.

He's become really good on his Strider(bike, no pedals) while walking with a neighbor this week Nicholas pushed off and lifted his feet up gliding down the sidewalk. Needless to say we were both amazed that he can do that already!

Earlier that week he was showing off his skills on his cousin Max's bike(with pedals), I was again amazed as he was able to pedal as if he's always known. He did have some trouble with the steering, but good, he hasn't learned that yet.

Nick colored one day at school.

Apparently when you turn 2, you learn new things, he now can open doors.

Favorite color- Pink

Nicholas' 2nd Birthday

Sticking with tradition in the Polzin family, on your birthday you get breakfast in bed. He loved it, blueberry waffles.

Nicholas is testing out his brand new bike. A bike with no pedals, it will teach him balance so he won't need training wheels.
Later that day we took him to the Morton Arboretum.
There, he only wanted to do the big kid stuff.

His Spongebob birthday cake. Made by Mommy & Daddy.

Both families came over to celebrate.
He's on his way to being a pro at it.

Happy 2nd Birthday Nick!

I'll provide the photos from the upcoming birthday weekend next week.
(blogger.com was down this morning, sorry this is coming on late)

Over the weekend, Nick tried his first ear of corn. He enjoyed the parts that he ate.

A celebration at the Bowman included: Grandpa Ed's birthday, Uncle Tod's birthday and 4 Mother's (days)
Nick, Cormac and Declan enjoyed helping open presents.

Here they are helping out Great Grandma

Nick has been really expanding his vocabulary and putting words together such as:
I'm coming mommy.
Mommy coming?
No good, icky.

A Birthday Week!

Over the weekend the family visited "Two Brothers Brewery"
Nick was a great boy for the 1:10 tour that we thought would have been brief.

Here Nick is trying out his potentially new pair of shoes.

If Buster the dog is outside, Nick is by his side. He loves our neighbors dog, "Bus."

We celebrated Effie's 1st birthday and enjoyed a Greek feast. Nick tried Gyros for the first time and like Daddy, loved them. Nick played with the train set for most of the time.
That was until he went out on a big wheel out back and pedaled around as if he's known how to do it for years. I didn't know he knew how...or was even able to.

The birthday girl.

Worth mentioning even if it's way overdue. Nick loves to tell you when the stoplight is red and to "stop". When it's green, he'll say "go".

A bite free week.

My brother, his wife Amanda and their son Max welcomed a new edition to their family Henry Thomas Polzin whom was born at 2:32 Wednesday morning. He came in at 7lbs 3oz, 20 inches long. Congratulations to them!

Easter Weekend

Daddy & Mommy were in Florida for a wedding so Nicholas hung out with Dads side for Easter.
Coloring eggs with Uncle Todd

We were excited to see what the Easter bunny had for Nick at home.

Nicks very first peep.

Finally...he probably thinks.

Bites- Lost count, according to a new teacher, a girl bit Nicks girl friend Te-te, Nick got upset and bit the girl back. They then proceeded to repeatedly bite one another. Don't mess with Nicks loved ones.

Words- Lost count, he can and tries to say everything these days. Like today, I need to get some supplies from upstairs. "Sup ss ss"

At dinner the other day Nick was making a mess of his food, with Mommy sitting next to me I offer a stern face and ask, "Nick, who's laughing? He looks at us both, then points to himself and says "Nick laughing"...I wanted him to stop, not encourage....Mommy then started cracking up.

ofyou & Don't Smile

Palm Sunday

We celebrated a 1st birthday Saturday were Nick got to play with lots of Dads fraternity friends kids.

We celebrated Great Grandma's 83rd birthday Sunday where Nick got to play with lots of cousins.

Maybe it's because Nick has said sorry so often in the past 8 months that he feels he's responsible when anyone gets hurt, or maybe he is just coming over to comfort you because he thinks you are in pain. If mommy stubs her toe, he'll come over and say sorry, give her a kiss and a hug. If Dad is smacked by another child, Nick will come over and say "no" to the other child and say sorry to me, then stand in front of me, protecting me.

He is funny! Really! He does a lot of silly things and then laughs saying "Neek" funny.
"Don't Smile" comes from when Daddy gets Mommy to smile when she's mad or sad. It works on Nick too and he loves it. So do we, seeing him try to fight the smile from coming out, resisting it with his big fat lower lip, then busts out to a big smile. I wanted to post photos of this however, Nick making a sad face then happy doesn't do it justice. Perhaps a video down the road.

Words-
I love you - ofyou

Hair Cut & Ice Cream

0 bites - 5 days

This past weekend we took Nick to get his hair cut. This was his first store bought hair cut. He hated every second of it, even though he was in a train chair and a kids movie was on in front of him.

The next day it was really nice out and since Nick had his first very own scoop of ice cream following the hair cut...I thought why not again?
We shared this and I promise you Daddy's spoonfuls were very large so that he didn't have that much. He was very good about sharing it.

It's cute.

You may think he's a tough kid in this photo, quite the contrary, some kid scratched him a few times and the ran full speed into a table.
