Today he turned 8 months old.

How its done- His mole is 2" x 2", they will cut down the middle of it and insert two "spacers" that will go on either side. They are same dimension as a flat bar of soap, for now. They will have two tubes that are attached to the spacers that also will be under his skin. Those tubes will allow us to fill up the spacers with a needle, each week with saline. Every week they will grow, along with his skin. 6-12 weeks later when they feel they have enough skin, Nick will go undergo the second surgery to have it all removed.
Prayers are welcomed.
MY prayers are with you. That will be quite tramatic for Nick and both of you but knowing that it will prevent him from getting melanoma, it will be all worth it. Keep the faith . . .
ReplyDeleteYou'll have more prayers than you know.... and it will hurt you both more than him. This will be just a small blip on his radar... I predict it will slow him down for about a minute....
