I also want to note he takes a step or two while reaching for something but has no idea he's standing on his own...when he does realizes this, he falls to his bottom.

"Thumper"
"Thumper" is what Grandma Bowman calls Nick because when he's excited or moving to some music, his left leg pats the ground repeatedly. Good name! I'll get some video of it soon.
Daddy is back in town. Grandma Polzin and I went on week long cruise to the Caribbean, boy I sure missed my family but had a wonderful time with my Mom!

Milk sign language symbol, he has seemed to pick that one up really fast, but we are not sure if he is saying goodbye also...
Today I started my new job, Grandma Bowman watched Nick. My computer wasn't delivered yet, but I did get to pick out from a catalog my new desk and supplies. I'm really looking forward to this job and the opportunity it holds. The good news this week is, I get to work from home for another week. Just need to stop in for a few meetings. Here is my new, nearly empty office.

"Filling" up
Nick had his expanders filled today. They were able to put another 10cc's into the expanders which is good news that he is progressing. He still cried during this one but it was much better than last time. He was a little "clingy" and slugish today but again an improvement from the last filling so I was pleasantly surprised.
Hope all is well with you and your families.

I'm gonna get you and upside down!
Nick loves going upside down or leaning back as far as he can while still holding on. I think he likes the change of scenery! It's the best when you count before you let him lean down he gets soooo excited as you get closer to three!
Annother favorite is chase or I'm gonna get you. He'll crawl away from you giggling like crazy and then look back to make sure you are chasing him! It's way too much fun!
Grandma Bowman has been babysitting this week so he's gotten lots of time to hang with Grandma & Grandpa! Thank you!

Wedding!
Busy Busy weekend! Time just seems to fly!
Tim and I had a great time at an old college friend's wedding this past weekend. We really enjoyed catching up with our old "Neighbors."
Thank you Grandma & Grandpa Bowman for watching Nick! Not only did Nick get to spend time with Grandma & Grandpa he also got to see our good friends Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Harry. Apparently Nick really enjoyed playing with Uncle Harry's beard. He was fascinated!
As I'm new to the whole blog thing I hope to have pictures next post!
Thanks!

Peek-A-Boo
It has to be the best game around. We've been playing it with him for months, but when he played it on us yesterday it was even more fun. For Mommy's case, he was lifting up and down the blanket while Mommy said peek-a-boo. For Daddy, while in bed and Nick standing along side the bed, he would squat down so he couldn't see me, then pull himself up and I'd say peek-a-boo. That went on about 5 minutes.
We recent bought a sound machine for his room. We had to...when we'd walk by his room at night and the floor would crack, it would wake him...he is just like his forefathers. So far his favorite sound is the heartbeat.
A few days ago I took Nick to the library where I picked out a DVD on teaching him sign language, for him to communicate down the road. He watched about 7 minutes and then lost interest. But it was a good start for now.
Yesterday we went and had his expanders filled in his head. They gave the option for us to do it at home every week. It took 2 professional nurses along with Mom and Dad to perform the task. We'll be there next week.
Nick recently enjoys playing with a small ball we got from restaurant. He will chase it all over the house, but if you sit down with him, he'll do his best to toss it back to you if you roll it to him.
Next week I am going to turn over the blog to Mommy for a week.

Backwards
Since the surgery Nick spent a lot of time with Mommy, perhaps a bit too much because all he wants to do is eat from her. Thankfully by today he is starting to accept a bottle again but as far as people food go, he doesn't want any of it. His favorite, butternut squash, now gives him a sour face and pushes the spoon away. So we have a little work to do.
His Bowman Grandparents stopped by Sunday, his Polzin Grandparents stopped by Monday, both saw him in a good mood with high spirits. But when Tuesday came around and old coworker, who Daddy will be soon working with again came to see Nick, he was Mr. Fussy and didn't want too play.
He loves when Daddy chases him around the basement and is now letting go when he's standing, only to fall on his butt. The following are photos from his shoot before the surgery last week.
